ABOUT THE EVENT

Recent years have seen a boom in sharing economy, creating new opportunities for both consumers as well as entrepreneurs within the EU. Sharing concept made an important contribution to job creation and growth. It is estimated that in the EU in 2017 gross revenues of cooperation platforms and providers amounted to tens of billions of euros. Experts estimate cooperative economy could contribute 160 to 572 billion € to the EU economy. On the other hand, the sharing economy also has a significant impact on the quality of life, it provides an opportunity for additional earnings, a polygon for getting to know entrepreneurship and preparing for entry into the labor market.

The purpose of the workshop is to create business models with the help of Business Model Canvas, which would correspond to the EU and Slovenian legal framework. At the same time, through a bottom-up approach, new opportunities offered by the sharing economy will be sought and can have a positive impact on the quality of living of specific target groups. Here, as a starting point, we highlight the improvement of quality of life, the possibility of additional earnings and gaining experience to enter the world of entrepreneurship. Then, the round table will present the findings from the workshops, at the same time the guests of the round table will present the possible restrictions imposed by the current legislation and the possibilities of the future development of the sharing economy in the EU and Slovenia.
